Does This Vogue Turkey Cover Prove Irina Shayk Can’t Do High Fashion? (Forum Buzz)

Irina Shayk is doing pretty well for herself lately, having just walked the Atelier Versace show in Paris and has even bagged a Givenchy campaign this season, too. Now the Russian beauty’s brand new cover for Vogue Turkey has been unveiled, quickly finding its way to our forums for us to deliberate over. Photographed by Norman Jean Roy, L’Oréal Paris’ newest ambassador wears an eye-catching creation from Christian Dior as she gazes out toward us judgmental folk.

Members of our forums couldn’t wait to dissect the cover. “I’m really not one of those who turn up their noses at commercial/sexy models crossing over to high fashion but Irina just doesn’t work for me,” Marc10 said.
“She’s gonna be everywhere this year,” Oxymore moaned.
Most definitely not feeling it was Miss Dalloway, slamming, “Horrible! The garish background, the art direction, and then you have a pose of her just sitting there with bad eye makeup, and NO energy? No thank you! They used to be so good, but it’s just one bad cover after another, for years now!”
Also unwilling to show enthusiasm was MON, condemning, “Disaster. It’s now a shadow of what it once was. Shame.”
Forum member kokobombon shared the same underwhelming sentiments. “I find Irina’s sexy/bombshell expression in contrast with the soft set and styling off-putting…” she stated.
“It’s actually not a bad cover, other than the weird pose, and clashing gold masthead and printed backdrop. The dress looks way more interesting than the cover subject. Overall it’s a major improvement for Vogue Turkey,” admitted Benn98.
“I somehow love it. Very captivating,” wrote gossiping, projecting a completely different opinion.
